These pages are here to recognise the achievements of local schools in chess competitions, and help promote competitions that your school might want to enter.

Newcastle under Lyme Schools' Under 11 Chess Championships
A report on the 2009 Newcastle under Lyme schools' championships, including all the players who took part and the final places of each school.  Well done to everyone involved.

New entries from other schools are welcome.

National Primary Schools Chess Team Championship
Would you like to play for your school's Under 11 or Under 9 chess team?  Here is a full guide to this very popular competition.  Your team would include 6 players, and meet teams from schools in other parts of the country.

Team Plate Competition
School teams can also compete in the Team Plate competition.  This event is played over one weekend each year and your team can compete at one of three venues.

UK Chess Challenge

The UK Chess Challenge is a very popular competition.  It starts in your school or club, and ends with the national Terafinal.  Everyone who takes part wins a prize.
