At the recent NYCA competition, the under 18 Staffordshire's Junior Chess team came 6th out of 9 while the under 13 team came 12th out of 15.
In a very tough competition, this was an excellent result: This is their first year of County competitions after a break of many years.
None of our under 13`s had a grade, but in the 1st round, our board 1 played someone with a grade of 145!
Both Staffordshire teams played really well and show excellent potential which is being promoted through training days.
(Training days are held for under 9,11,13 and 15s but not 18`s)
The next team competition is for the Under 15 team on the 20th November and once again it is an NYCA event (at Solihull).
