EPSCA Inter-Association Championships EPSCA's Inter-Association Championships are national competitions that allow teams of players to represent their area and compete against similar teams from other parts of the country.
This page is intended to give you an idea of what to expect if you are interested in taking part.

The competition is divided into three sections: Under 9, Under 11 and Girls (under 11).
The Under 9 and Under 11 competitions have regional heats (also called zones), then a national final.
The Girls just have the national final.
Each of the zones and finals are one day competitions, played on a Saturday between March and May each year.

U11 Championship
This is for players aged under 11.
Each team has twenty players and four reserves.
The competition starts with a regional heat (also called zones), followed by the national final.
In each game during the Under 11 Championship, you will have 50 minutes on a chess clock to complete all your moves.

U9 Championship
This is for players aged under 9.
Each team has twelve players and four reserves.
The competition starts with a regional heat (also called zones), followed by the national final.
In each game during the Under 9 Championship, you will have 40 minutes on a chess clock to complete all your moves.

Girls Championship
This is for players aged under 11.
Each team has twelve players and four reserves.
This competition is played as just the national final.
In each game during the Girls Championship, you will have 50 minutes on a chess clock to complete all your moves.
