Introduction
This tournament is held in Halifax in November each year.

For skillful players, results from the England Under 11 trial qualifier section count towards selection for the England Under 11 team trials.  The Getting selected box in the right hand column of this page tells you how the England Under 11 trial qualifier section is organised.  If you're not familiar with the England trials, take a look at How to qualify.

The England Under 11 Team Trials Qualifier is held on Saturday.  There is a Junior One Day Rapidplay on Sunday.  The Junior British Rapidplay is also held on Sunday, where you can compete for the Under 16, Under 14, Under 12 or Under 10 Championship titles.

Players aged 11 to 16, who are trying to qualify for the National Chess Junior Squad should compete in the two day competition most suited to your grade - Major if your grade is between 146 and 170, Intermediate if your grade is between 121 and 145 and the Minor section if your grade is under 121.  In these competitions, some of your opponents may be adult.
